How to Submit Your Listing

Beginning on January 1st, 2007, only Members of the Insider Fly Fishing Web site will be allowed to submit and approve for inclusion Web sites to be listed in the onFlyFishing Fly Fishing Directory. If you are not yet a Member of Insider Fly Fishing, it is in your own best interest to join us now.

We ask that you follow these simple steps when submitting your Web site to onFlyFishing.com:

1.  Check to see if your site is already listed.
This is an important first step. If your site is already listed, please do not submit it again. Check by searching your site's title, or by browsing appropriate categories. You can do this from all pages within the Directory using the search box. Here's a tip: type your complete Web site address (http://www.yourcompany.com) into the search field. This will return all entries with the given domain. You can also easily locate your Listing by searching for your e-mail address. Just type your complete e-mail address, including your ISP (such as aol.com), into the search field.

If your Listing is already entered into our database and you want to make changes to it, please contact us.

2.  Find the appropriate category in the Directory.
Finding an appropriate category for a Listing is at the heart of this process. We created onFlyFishing.com with a simple category structure. Follow the categories until you find one that matches the content of your site. Remember that our content team visits each site suggested. Proper categorization on your part helps us process suggestions more quickly.

3.  Add your Listing to the appropriate category.
Do this by clicking on the Suggest a Site link in the left navigation bar on the category page where you'd like your site listed. The final placement of your Listing is determined by our content team.

When you click on Suggest a Site in the appropriate category, you'll be presented with a form asking for information about your Web site. (In the "category" space on the form, you'll see the name of the category you have chosen.) Please be prepared to provide your e-mail address, your site's title, URL (Web site address), contact information and a brief description of your entry. When adding a Web site, please be sure to use the full URL (http://www.yourcompany.com) in your entry. Also, we ask that you do not use any non-alphanumeric characters in the description. The description can be up to 250 characters in length, including spaces. Using HTML for the description is forbidden.

Submissions are reviewed within five business days from the date of submission, excluding weekends and some holidays. Submissions following the guidelines above can expect to be added within that time period. Please help us to help you by providing your information as outlined.

4.  Do not resubmit.
Once submitted, there's no need to resubmit your Listing. In fact, doing so may cause your site to be flagged as Spam and rejected from the index. Sometimes, because of a high-volume of submissions, a Web site may take as long as two weeks to get listed. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail from us within two weeks, please contact us.

Once you've followed these four easy steps and your site has been approved for the appropriate category, you can look forward to being entered in the onFlyFishing.com database, where your listing will be fully searchable by our many users. We hope you enjoy our Directory and that your experience with us is a rewarding one.
